Assurant Intermediary appoints new BDM - say 'hello' to Dave Carr
We are very pleased to announce that we appointed Dave Carr as Business Development Manager covering Wales, Midlands and the North West at the end of March.
He takes over from Liam Nugent and joins us from The Source so with his experience in the GI market, we are delighted to welcome him on board.
Dave will be working closely with his regional Account Manager, Tom Mann, and will start to get in touch with existing and new accounts within the region to introduce himself and help grow your GI business.

What's a typical day for you?Working with intermediaries to identify where GI currently stands in their business and working with them on a clear plan on how we are going to achieve their GI aspirations together. The role is very much on a consultancy basis with support as much or as little as required, but always seeking to add value to the brokers we work with. |

Q: Tell us about your career to date… I have worked in Financial Services for 20 years and my career has always been in the sales arena working my way up from a Telephone BDM, to running a Telesales Team to becoming a BDM. |
Q: How long have you worked for Assurant? Although not new to the industry, I’m the ‘new kid on the block’ with my role at Assurant - started end March 2022! |
Q: Best part of your job? Working with different people and delivering quality, consistent and honest support is what gives me most job satisfaction. |

Q: My first car was... Citroen Saxo. My friends said it was pink but I always held firm at salmon! |
Q: Best advice you were ever given? Be patient. Things happen for a reason and life has a way of working out for the best in the end. |
Q: My first record/CD/download was… Would love to say it was Oasis (that was my second) but no, it was East 17 - got to love Stay Another Day! |

Q: My favourite tipple is... If out you can’t beat a cold Peroni, if at home. Pinot Grigio is my go-to drink. |
Q: My last meal would be... I’ve probably ordered a lasagne in about every local restaurant in town... |
Q: Something very few people know... We won the National Lottery.....or at least we thought we did. I read my saved numbers as the winning ones and then had to break the news to my family as they were already spending the money! |
